The days you'll miss, recorded before you go
A deployment has a calendar of days you already know you'll miss: a birthday, the first day of school, the recital, a holiday morning. Record a message for each one now — a video, a voice note, a letter — and give it the date. It reaches them by private link on the morning, from you, whether or not you can get to a phone that week.
Kept exactly as you leave it; nobody can open it early, and you can add to it from wherever you are. Your first three keepsakes are free; $59 once unlocks unlimited, and nothing ever renews.

How it works for a deployment
Record
Sit down with the calendar before you leave. One message per day you'll miss: a birthday wish, the thing you'd say at the door on the first day of school, a bedtime story for the night you can't call. A minute each is plenty; the kids want your face and your voice, not a speech.
Choose the days
Give each keepsake its date and the address it should reach — a parent's email for the little ones, their own for a teenager. Add more from wherever you are, whenever there's a connection.
They arrive
On the morning, one plain email with a private link, from you. It plays on whatever they have; it stays there for them; you see it marked delivered, if you can check.
What to say to the kids before you go, for later
Openers, not scripts. A minute is plenty, and it doesn't have to be the big one — start with the thing you'd want them to hear on an ordinary day.
- Happy birthday, bug. I'm recording this in the kitchen in August, and I already know what cake you'll pick.
- First day of school. Remember: find one kid who looks nervous and sit with them. Then tell me about it.
- This is the bedtime story for the night I can't call. Do the voices yourself; you know how.
- To my wife, for the night of the recital: I know you filmed it. I know you cried. Me too, in advance.
- Merry Christmas from wherever I am. Open the big one first. Dad's orders.
- You're twelve today. Here's what I was like at twelve, so you know it gets better.
- For the morning of the big game: play hard, be kind, and don't argue with the ref. I'll want the whole story.
- I'm not going to pretend this one's easy. I'll be home before the next one. Here's what we'll do that day.
- A message for Mom on a day in the middle, with no occasion: you're doing all of it. I see it.
- Hello from the day before I left. I love you. That's the whole message. Play it whenever.
A few facts
Questions people ask
How is this different from a video call or a saved video on a phone?
It arrives on the day, by itself, from you — nobody has to find the file, remember the date or be awake in the right time zone. A call is better when you can make one; this is for the days you can't.
Can I record for each child separately?
Yes. Each keepsake has its own recipient, so the birthday message for one and the first-day message for the other go to the right person on the right morning. For small children, address it to the parent at home.
Can I add more while I'm deployed?
Yes. Record on your phone whenever there's a connection and give it a date; it joins the others. You can also re-record or delete anything that hasn't been delivered yet.
What if I can't be reached when one goes out?
It still goes out on its date, with no one's intervention. The email says when you recorded it and makes no claim about you. We chose dates because they need nobody to verify anything and no one to get a hard call wrong.
Is it private?
Yes. Each keepsake goes only to the address you set, by a link that isn't public, and nobody can open it before its date. We never generate a voice or a word you didn't record.
Can my spouse see what's coming?
Only if you address something to them. The keeper you name can pass keepsakes on if an address stops working, but can't open them early.
What does it cost?
Your first three keepsakes are free. $59 once unlocks unlimited keepsakes and people for good — no renewals. Or someone can give it to you as a gift before you go.
