A gift · For a parent, a grandparent, a new family

Give them a place to say it now, for later.

Keepsakes for later is a private page where someone records messages for the people they love — a video, a voice note, a letter — and chooses the day each one arrives: an 18th birthday, a wedding morning, a day years from now. One payment unlocks it for good. You give the code; they do the rest.

$59 once · unlimited keepsakes and people · nothing to renew · By invite during beta, and the code is their invitation

What the gift includes

A gift for a parent, a grandparent or a new family: a private place to record video, voice and written keepsakes for the people they love, each delivered on a day they choose. $59 once, nothing to renew. Add it to a registry or give it in a card.

Every kind of keepsake

Video, voice, a written note or a photo, recorded in the browser on any phone. A minute is plenty; they can add to it over years.

Delivered on the day they choose

Each keepsake has its own date and its own recipient. On the day it goes out by itself, by private link, with nobody's help.

Unlimited, for good

The gift unlocks unlimited keepsakes and recipients with one payment. Nothing renews, because a keepsake might wait twenty years.

Kept exactly as they leave it

Never edited, summarized, voiced or recreated by software. If they didn't record it, it doesn't exist.

Nothing for the recipient to join

Whoever opens a keepsake gets one plain email and a link. No account, no app, nothing to buy, ever.

Theirs to take with them

They can download everything they've recorded at any time. If the service ever wound down, every author would get twelve months' notice and their export.

How giving it works

Three steps. The person you give it to does the recording; you've given them the place and the nudge.

1

Buy the gift

Tell us who it's for and add a note. Pay once by card. There's no account to make and nothing to renew.

2

Hand over the code

We email the code to you to give in a card or over dinner, or we email it to them with your note — now, or on a date you pick, like the birthday itself.

3

They start recording

They go to keepsakepage.com/later, enter the code, and record the first keepsake in a minute. The code is their invitation; nothing else is needed.

Who it's for

  • A new parent, for the children's milestones
  • A grandparent, for every grandchild
  • Someone about to deploy
  • A parent of the bride or groom
  • After a diagnosis
  • Anyone whose voice you'd want kept

Add it to a registry

Baby and wedding registries that take a link from any site can hold this page: the name, the price and the picture come through. Paste the address below as the item, and the person who buys it lands here.

Questions people ask before giving it

What exactly am I buying?

An unlock for one person's Keepsakes-for-later page: unlimited keepsakes and recipients, for good, with one payment of $59. The page itself is free to start, and the first three keepsakes are free for everyone; the gift removes the limit.

Do they need an invitation?

No. Keepsakes for later is by invite during the beta, and the gift code is the invitation. They go to keepsakepage.com/later, enter the code, and start.

Can I give it for a date, like the birthday itself?

Yes. Choose 'email it to them' and pick a date; we send the code that morning with your note. Or have the code sent to you and give it however you like.

Is it a subscription?

No. One payment, nothing renews. A keepsake recorded now might not be opened for twenty years, and nobody should have to keep paying for that.

What does the person who receives a keepsake get?

One plain email with a private link on the day the author chose. No account, nothing to buy. The page shows the author's name, the keepsake and a button to keep a copy.

Does it work for someone who isn't good with technology?

It runs in the browser on a phone or tablet with one button to record, and a son or daughter can set the page up for them in ten minutes. There's a help address on every page.

Can I add it to a Babylist or wedding registry?

Yes. Any registry that accepts a link from another site can hold this page. Paste keepsakepage.com/gift as the item; the title, price and picture come through, and the buyer pays here.

Is there a party version?

Yes: a KeepSakePage for a birthday, a retirement or an anniversary gathers messages from everyone and cuts them into a film. It's free during the beta, by invite — see the occasions pages rather than this one.
