An 80th birthday gift from everyone who loves them
KeepSakePage collects messages from friends and family — video, voice notes, written notes and photos, even a phone call from someone who won't use a link — and cuts the best moments into a short movie-trailer-style video to play at the party.
Afterwards the whole collection lives on a private page they keep: every message, every photo, the trailer. It is free during the beta; you ask for an invite and we send a code.

About this sample. The 95-second teaser from the founder's father's 80th, shared with the family's permission: a title card, then the best moment from a handful of the messages — grandchildren, old colleagues, friends from fifty years back — over a song chosen for him, with the lines people wrote on screen. It was cut from the same collection as the full trailer — nineteen minutes, all 94 people — which played on the TV at his birthday dinner before anyone had seen the page; the teaser is the one the family shared afterwards.
How it works for an 80th birthday
Collect
Share one private link, or the phone number for the friends who'd rather call. Everyone records on their own phone in a couple of minutes; you see each message as it arrives and nothing is visible to the birthday person.
Cut
Approve the messages you want, pick the song, and let the director cut the trailer: the best moment from each video, the best line from every note, the length you choose. Adjust any clip by hand.
Play it at the party
The full trailer, full screen on the TV, after the cake. Then hand them the link: the complete page, every message, theirs for good — and a short teaser to share with everyone who couldn't be there.
What to say in an 80th birthday message
Borrow one, or let it remind you of your own. Thirty seconds is plenty; the director keeps the best moment.
- Happy 80th. Eighty years of showing up for people — I've been on the receiving end more times than I can count.
- Dad, you taught me to drive, to fish, and to apologize first. Two of those I still use every week.
- Grandpa, you're the reason I tell long stories. I'm not sorry, and neither are you.
- To the man who never missed a game of mine in twelve years. Happy birthday, Coach.
- Eighty looks good on you, Mom. So does being the person everyone calls first.
- We met in 1971 and you still laugh at my jokes. Happy birthday, old friend.
- You kept the family together through the hard years. Today the family is here to say thank you.
- Happy birthday, Nana. Every recipe I make, I make the way you showed me — including the shortcuts you said not to tell anyone.
- To eighty more. Or at least to next summer, when we're doing this again on the lake.
- I'm recording this from three time zones away, and I'd still rather be in your kitchen. Happy 80th.
A few facts
Questions people ask
What's a good 80th birthday gift for someone who has everything?
Something that can't be bought: the people. A KeepSakePage gathers a message from everyone who loves them and turns the best moments into a short video for the party. The gift is the faces and voices, not the thing in the box.
Can friends who don't use smartphones take part?
Yes. Every page comes with a phone number. They call, hear the birthday person's name in the greeting, and talk after the tone. Their message lands on the page like any other, with a transcript, ready for the trailer.
How many people do we need?
There's no minimum. A dozen messages make a lovely trailer; the sample page had ninety-four people. The director picks the best moment from each, so more people means more variety, not a longer video.
How far ahead should we start?
Give it three or four weeks. Most people record within a few days of being asked, and one-tap reminders chase the rest. Late arrivals can still be folded in without starting over.
Will they see anything before the party?
No. You approve every message, the page stays private, and the birthday person sees nothing until you reveal it. If they'd try to peek, there's a password for the link.
How long is the trailer?
As long as you want it. The full cut is made for the room, at the length you choose, with every contributor in it; at the founder's father's 80th it ran nineteen minutes, played on the TV at the dinner, and nobody reached for their phone. From the same messages the director also cuts a short vertical teaser, about a minute and a half, made for sharing afterwards. The sample above is that teaser.
What do they get to keep?
The whole page: every message, every photo, both cuts, and a downloadable archive — so the keepsake outlives the party, and any website.
